A missing tooth or missing teeth can be replaced by a dental appliance known as a bridge, named as such because it bridges a gap between the teeth where another tooth or teeth used to be. A bridge contains one or more artificial teeth supported on either side by healthy, natural teeth with crowns, which form an anchor point for the bridge. These appliances are cemented in and are not removed by the patient or the dentist once inserted. Bridges are custom-fabricated to your teeth and mouth, do not compromise speech or chewing, and are indistinguishable from your natural teeth when speaking or smiling.
